Denzel was very attractive in this movie

downright sexy, manly and commanding, a real prince. Too bad there was no girl for him. The scence where he offers himself to Beatrice and she so kindly turns him down, as being too much above her, was very nicely done.

Very well acted ensemble piece.

Keaton's performance put me off the first time I saw it. It was funny the next time. Dogberry is supposed to be a foolish pompous, yet withal well meaning fellow. Keaton gave it a novel twist by making him somewhat crazy. But he retained all the rest of it at the same time. I didn't like the pretending to be on horses bit, though.

honey, when is Denzel ever NOT attractive?:) He is so wonderful and I totally agree he needed a sweetie of his own. Shame on the Bard for leaving the poor man hanging.

"Shame on the Bard for leaving the poor man hanging."

It does seem odd, in the theatrical-release version, you just see him standing there while everyone else is celebrating and singing all over the place. But in the director's cut you can see while all the other characters are frolicking, cavorting and singing "Sigh No More," and overhead shot shows Don Pedro off in one secluded nook of the estate, overseeing it while Dogberry and the other constables are administering the popular Renaissance punishment, hanging-drawing-and-quartering, to Don John. It's just a brief shot of the disembowlment as Don John kicks spasmodically on the gibbet, but later, if you look carefully, you can see Dogberry and his men joining the celebrants and waving Don John's unraveled intestines over their heads like garlands.

Branagh apparently decided these touches were a little too dark for the movie, and excised them from the movie.

Denzel wore leather pants and women rejoiced. His acting was great, too.

reply

Attractive ? Perhaps. Too bad he is utterly incapable of making a single line of Shakespeare's dialogue credible. Stay AWAY from the Bard Mr. Washington... you are WAY out of your depth.

reply

And you're no critic. Stick to making pot pies 'chef'. Way to be a douchebag.

reply

Lol what do you mean in THIS movie? Man's a god!

reply

Oh, yeah, Denzel is attractive in all of his movies. He strips naked in Richochet!!! He's especially hot in Mighty Quinn. He was cast quite nicely for the role of the prince in Much Ado About Nothing.

reply

I tell you who was hot in this movie - Emma Thompson. Rar.

reply

Yes he was....
