Why didn't Mrs. Doubtfire tell the social worker lady to wait in the kitchen?

If Mrs. Doubtfire had told her to wait in the kitchen, she wouldn't have seen the front door. Mrs. D could have said "I'll get Daniel for you. I just came by to pick something up and I'll be on my way". Mrs. D could have went to the other room, taken the disguise off, and Daniel could have pretended he was letting Mrs. D out the door.

Sure. But I can buy it, because it also makes sense. Her job was to snoop, observe and evaluate, and Daniel was already acting off. I think she would've found it overtly fishy if he said something that's essentially "Hey....don't come over here unless I say."

reply

Not a bad point, but Mrs. D did tell her that Daniel was getting dressed. Even if she did want to snoop, maybe she would have held back to avoid embarrassment.

Good point

Actually, the whole mess could have been avoided entirely if he'd just found a suitable, stable place in his bedroom to keep his mask out of plain sight! After all, Mrs. Sellner never went into his bedroom the whole visit and there was no reason at all that it needed to be perched vicariously on an unsteady window frame while he was dressing. And another question is; Why the hell was he dressing and undressing with his window open and lights on in the middle of the night knowing full well those Asian twins were watching him like a movie?!

reply

Mrs. Sellner isn't the bad guy here; it was just Daniel being careless at the last minute by placing his mask in the picture window.......

reply

I know, but Mrs. Doubtfire could have told her to sit in the blind spot and she could have pretended to make a run for it while changing back to Daniel.
