It was pretty funny that Uncle Frank and Aunt Jack designed a duplicate mask ready for him the very next day
I mean, they must have known that he's accident prone by now, since Uncle Frank is his brother and he grew up with him probably seen Daniel Hillard have his nonstop share of mishaps and clumsy mistakes, and Aunt Jack has probably gotten used to him over the years especially in his and Frank's relationship; but that first night in question with Mrs. Sellner, everything that could go wrong, went wrong and he came dangerously close to be caught in a lie; he's fumbling around the mask falls out of the bedroom window and is visible in the kitchen, he can't get it from the street without being seen by Mrs. Sellner, Mrs. Sellner wants her tea so he/she's supposed to be in the kitchen anyways, he/she gets to the kitchen bumps his head, loses his wig, spills over a couple of things I guess, he's farting; worst of all things, the mask has just fallen out the window and been run over by a truck! Oh shit! Oh shit is right, there Daniel. Oh shit is right. Meanwhile, Mrs. Sellner is nearing closer and closer to the door and Daniel barely has any time to blink let alone come up with a solution; luckily he bought himself a just divorced cheer yourself up cake from the local bakery with thick coat of vanilla icing. He launches his face into the cake and Presto! A solution; and he pulled it off so effortlessly. Meanwhile, the next day; he takes his ruined smashed up mask over to his brother's house and says "Little accident" but it's his brother that steals the show IMO. Frank was already standing there practically waiting for Daniel to show up and he was already holding the second mask, he had no surprise, no shock, no reaction actually. Just saying to be careful with the new one.....wow, it was like he was already knowing what to expect.
