Be that as it may, don't worry. Daniel will move on from Miranda and marry someone else, who is similar to him
It was hinted at twice in the movie; the first time is during the Aerosmith montage when Daniel was riding a bike with Nattie, Chris, and Lydia and then a young blonde jogger runs by them and Daniel not only looks her up and down, but he gives her a longing, love-struck stare and almost crashes his bike, [with Nattie on it! YIKES!] Then it happens again when he's by the pool [at the bar to be exact] and a blonde chick walks up to order soda with a lime in it which Daniel almost buys for her but she declined. Those scenes are meant to tell as that Daniel isn't dead in the water when it comes to finding new romance. They just didn't want to lose the plot; the main movie plot was man pretends to be a nanny so he can be with his own kids. If he falls in love with someone else and remarries halfway through that would detract from that and distract viewers, basically taking it in another direction. Those two scenes though brief just hint that he will move on. Meanwhile, the status of Miranda's is left up in the air though. After the dinner party, Stu isn't mentioned nor seen again so it's left up to interpretation even though the kids loved him as a stepfather and she knew him before she met Daniel and it's time for both Daniel and Miranda to move on; don't worry about Daniel growing old alone.
