Daniel's apartment

When Daniel moved into an apartment when he and Miranda got divorced, how come he didn't get a roommate?

reply

Same reason Miranda didn't. Probably didn't want one.

Seize the moment, 'cause tomorrow you might be dead.

He might not wanted one, just like miranda both might have felt they were better living on their own. Ands plus eleven if he did get a roommate, what is the roommate supposed to do when he has the so called "supervised" visits with his kids like he was a murder or a criminal and he had to be watched when he was around visitors.

reply

Well, the main character in Teri Garr's 1982 family comedy, Tootsie had a roommate which was why I think Daniel should have had a roommate when he moved into an apartment after he and Miranda got divorced.

reply

So what? This isn't a remake of Tootsie. Obviously both films are about men who disguise themselves of women, and have a few other similarities, but they are different stories. Plus, Tootsie was based on an unproduced play, while Mrs. Doubtfire was based on a book.

Who would have Danield Hillard would have gotten for a roommate

reply

Daniel would have to keep it even more of a secret. Also with the extra cash from Miranda he was getting the Bill's paid on his own

Did Robin Williams who played Daniel in this movie have a roommate in any of his other films?

reply

When you got kids staying over you don't want strangers around.

I wonder how much an apartment that size in San Francisco would cost today? I'm guessing about $3,000/month.
