Has anyone noticed that not one of these movies follows on from the previous one? The next film just starts in any time and any era with ol' Lep alive and well and that's it, despite being defeated previously.

That's because in every film it's a different Leprachaun. All played by Warwick Davis, yes, but different ones. They all look slightly different, have different powers and are of different ages (most noticably, the Lep in the first film says he is 600 years old, whereas the Lep in part 2 is 2000 years old).
