This movie is terrible (explaining why)

Ok imo this movie was terrible.

I brought this movie and the second movie, without bias against the films.

the problem that struck me with this movie is that the killer is a Leprechaun with magical powers,

compared to Chucky, a killer Doll.

I expected Mr Lucky Charms to at least out class Chucky on the killer scale. But he didnt.

Chucky was a more interesting horror killer, even without the magical killing and stuff.

This could have been so much more better.

the scene with the Leprechaun and the Police dude in the woods, should have had Mr Lucky Charms, rip the cops face off completely. that would have been more gruesome and interesting. Seem like something Chucky would have at least done if he could.

I know he not Chucky, but the Leprechaun with his magical powers, has worst kills than more horror movies like this. Even Wishmaster demon had more interesting killings.

this movie just seem terrible. and the Sequel part 2 was just as bad.

yeah they have some humor to them, but so did Child's Play movies, doesnt mean the killings couldnt have been more interesting, and a more interesting use of his powers would be a start.

I hear that this movie is getting a remake, well I hope they look into this issues I have listed above.

I feel like I would've enjoyed the movie more if it had been more serious. The movie had bits of creepy parts sprinkled in. But then it would be gone as soon as the Leperchaun was in a tiny Car or a Wheelchair or spouting off a cheesy line. Some may argue that's the "magic" of these films but I dunno. Maybe I'm overanalyzing it.

But honestly do you think the movie could've gone the "legit" serious route with such a ridiculous premise? I feel like the movie could benefit from a Gothic Fairytale vibe. Make it more serious and terrifying.

I have to give props to Warwick Davis though for being such a Trooper and appearing in all the Sequels.

~I love the rhythm it is my methoood!~

Wow people on these boards are actually justifying ways of how this film should have been made. It was the early 90's a Film about a killer leprechaun is isn't supposed to be serious. I mean come on hardly any of the horror films from the 90's were any good. This is more a Horror comedy. I'd like you to name another film that is anything like without using child's play as a reference. The only other ones I can think of is maybe the puppet master series or Killer clowns from outta space.

Agreed early 90s horror was just bad. With few exceptions of silence of the lambs and Candyman, those early years were horrible.
