Why not just go back to the bunker and wait for the raptors to run off into the woods? I mean once they realize there isn’t any food at the visitors center they aren’t going to hang around for too long.
Two reasons I can think of not to do that. The first is that Alan and the kids were still out there and the remaining survivors didn't know where they were. Ellie and Muldoon would be exposing Grant and the kids more to the raptors the longer they waited to get to the breakers.
The second reason is that there's no way of knowing the raptors wouldn't just follow Ellie and Muldoon's tracks back to the bunker and wait them out.
But of course, we know that waiting them out wouldn't have worked anyway since the kids were at the Visitors Center.
I didn't mention anything about whether they knew the raptors could get into the bunker. I specifically said they didn't know if the raptors would follow them and wait them out.
Muldoon stated the biggest reason for not running back to the bunker. They were already being hunted. He knew they were close and probably already on them. His idea was probably that if he stayed and she ran to the breakers, they would stay on him, and maybe he could kill them. Unfortunately, either he didn't know Dr. Grant's theory on how Raptors hunted, or in the heat of the moment he forgot and got sucked into their trap.
Right but if they made it back to the bunker, the raptors wouldn’t be able to get in and they’d eventually lose interest and go somewhere else for food.
The hypothesis about them wanting to get the power back on as soon as possible to save Grand, Tim and Lex makes sense though.
When they discovered that the Raptors had escaped, it was already too late. Like Muldoon said, they were already being hunted. They never would have made it back to the bunker. Their only hope was the Muldoon kill the raptors before they got them, and Stadler ran ahead to turn the power back on so they could call the mainland for help.
