Which material from the book do you wish was put into the movie / which parts of the movie held true to the book?
I wish Muldoon survived, he was a badass in the book. The lawyer was portrayed in much more dignified manner in the book as well.
It’s been awhile but I recall being disappointed that Muldoon was killed off too, and not given a more prominent role in the film. I also remember the wild breeding/eggs found was an ominous storyline in the book supporting the big theme that nature cannot be contained. Was disappointed that it was barely part of the movie story.
shareI wish they made Dodgson more of a presence both in this and The Lost World. Considering the actor's sex offender status now, I doubt he'll have a cameo in Jurassic World 3.
shareThere are a few parts in Crichton’s excellent book that didn’t make it into Spielberg’s film but I’d have to say it would’ve been awesome to have seen the T-Rex run and ‘plunge’ (as Crichton put it) into the lake in its pursuit of Alan, Lex and Tim. Can you imagine being in a boat and you turn round to look behind you and see that? Also it would’ve been cool to have seen the Dilophosaurus‘ following the boat on the sides of the river as the boat made its escape.
I too wish Muldoon survived. Bob Peck was so good in the role.
For those who haven’t read the book I SO recommend it, it’s a fantastic read. I defy anyone not to get out of breath reading the T-Rex attack on the kids, brilliant!

Definitely Muldoon. I've always wondered why they made such drastic changes from the book.
shareI always wanted Hammond to die at the end. It would have been such a better horror had the creator been killed by his creations. It would especially be hard to see such a sweet grandpa be killed. This way it's kind of unfair that we still see him as the good guy in "The Lost World", lying in his bed (not a jail cell).
shareI know it's late to respond but Hammond was a jerk and an idiot in the book. Towards the end of the book, after the majority of his staff have been killed and there are veliciraptors loose all over the park, he insists his park can still be open.

sharei felt Hammond's death in the book was fairly poetic, and arguably deserved.
but the movie felt more "family" so killin the old dude would've made people very sad.
Also, In the book Muldoon controls the dinosaur with a rocket launcher, not a puny 12ga shotgun. Shotgun are barely ever used for anything bigger than deer in real life. It's for hunting birds and small games, not oversized animals let alone dinosaurs.
At least in the sequel the hunters have elephant rifles and what not, which made a lot more sense.
