Umm, while I don't agree that Jurassic Park is a "rip off" of Jaws, they are definitely similar (similar beats you could say)
But you did not win this argument. Clearly Muldoon is a very similar character to Quint.
Objectively Jaws is the better film; Jurassic Park is more of about the spectacle. I like Jurassic Park better but Jaws is a superior film.
A better argument would be reversed; who is Nedry's equivalent in Jaws? Someone that is purposefully sabotaging for their won personal profit. Vaughn is more equivalent to Hammond and Vaughn does not do any purposefully sabotaging he wants his town to succeed like Hammond does.
In Jaws there really is no character like Nedry.
The Mayor of Amity is Nedry’s equivalent. Bumbling, greedy fool. Hammond is the collective equivalent of all the small business owners of Amity.
Muldoon is more of a Matt Hooper equivalent. The animal expert.
There is no cinematic equivalent to the character of Quint in all of film.

I disagree emphatically. Nedry was trying to harm Jurassic Park for his own profit. Vaughn wanted his town to succeed at all costs or collateral damage; that is 100% equivalent to Hammond.

You do realize you are sort of working against your own original argument now by pointing out the things that are equals in Jaws and Jurassic Park? the small business owners were of the same mind as the Mayor if anything Gannero and the investors of the park (Igen) are the equivalent of the towns people.

No, incorrect; Grant or Malcolm would be the equals of Hooper (knowledge experts but lacking in blue color practical experience). Muldoon is 100% equal with Quint (they are both experts through experience rather than education). This is just a wrong equivalence on you part.

Well maybe not quite as effective or the performance as memorable; but we are talking about character 'roles' or archetypes not if the characters are the same. Muldoon is definitely and equivalent (not equal) character.

Parts that take place in the kitchen remind me of The Shining.
shareNah, it’s an Exorcist rip off. The t-rex tried way too hard to be like Reagen. I had to shut it off after 15 minutes. I would not recommend this movie to anybody.
