T Rex saving them?
Did he want to help them by grabbing that velocirapter at end or was he just hungry?

He was a predator who went for the larger meal. Also, keep in mind that his vision was based on movement. The characters were standing still while the raptors were moving in for the kill.
A better question was how a T-rex sneaked inside.
They hadn't finished building the visitors center and there was a hole in the side of the building and that is how the raptor got in, the T-Rex followed the raptor inside and got in the exact same way. Now how they didn't hear the T-Rex coming is beyond me. Perhaps the film is shown from the characters perspective and since they were so focused on running from the raptors they just didn't notice?????

shareThe T-rex was a good guy all along. He broke into the car because he saw the kids weren't strapped in, and got worried about them. He thought if the car was broken, it wouldn't get into a horrible accident. He chased the car away when they found Ian Malcolm because some raptors were coming, and he wanted the humans to go home. He ate Genaro because he was a lawyer.
