Why do the characters have no warning of the incoming storm?

When the two cars are taking the main characters around on it's tour, Muldoon is in the visitors center and sees there's a storm heading straight towards the Island and he comments about how they're going to have to cut the tour short.

Why does no one then notify the two cars about this? you think the first thing Ray Arnold would do is jump on the radio and warn them about the storm coming, especially with the park still practically being in the "Beta" stage, and with the amount of glitches and problems the park has. (Ray Arnold mentions this).

I always assumed that it's because the storm doesn't really impact them directly. It'll flood a bit, and be bad weather to be out in, but not life threatening. The issue comes with the weather potentially wreaking havoc on the fences, security measures, and computer systems. Arnold probably assumes the storm will stop the characters from leaving the car so why mention it? He (and others) assume they're just going to drive back in to the centre, and everything will be fine.

First of all, Grant and the others hopped off the cars without warning anyone and went to see the Triceratops. If they hadn't done this, the cars would have reached the Visitor Centre before the storm began.

Second, the whole point of the movie is to show how Hammond and his employees were unable to control nature and never took all the necessary precautions to avoid the failure of the park. They were overconfident and didn't take their responsibilities seriously. They never understood the dangers of their creations.

Yeah and nobody listened to Muldoon either about the locking mechanisms on the vehicle doors. If they had of made sure the doors on the car could not be opened while the tour was underway, they wouldn't have wasted so much time with the triceratops and you're correct with what you say. they would have made it back to the visitors centre before the storm hit.
