I just realized something
Even if the power had never gone out, things could have gone bad anyway since the frog genes helped the dinosaurs breed. If no one would realize this, they could have quickly overtaken the island.

shareThat's correct. It would have only been a matter of time before more and more workers got killed by Raptors (since in the book it was Raptors that were breeding the most heavily) and the park would have gotten closed down anyway.
shareWelcome to Jurassic park the novel.
shareI never noticed that.
Metallica and Iron Maiden are Bronies
The novel goes in to much more detail about the breeding. Dr Maclolm notices very early on in the novel that the counting procdures the scientists use to meep track of dinosaur numbers is heavily flawed and prone to anomilies.
shareThe story is about man's arrogance presumption that he can control nature.
shareI've felt like they were too preachy about it. I never felt like it inevitable. I just felt like Hammond was too cheap too hire the best and too egotistical to hear no.
shareI don't see how he was too cheap. He kept saying, "Spared no expense."
Seize the moment, 'cause tomorrow you might be dead.
Because people always tell the truth and see themselves accurately. I don't know why the movie version of JH is seen as some crazy old coot who loved wasting money and dinosaurs. The movie makes it pretty obvious he was a narcissist and very cold.

Yeah, and he doesn't let the lysine contingency kick in. He had no problem letting people die, including his possibly his grandkids, to save face. That's evil. You know, it's not like he had a dinosaur making lab... :/

I agree he literally says (with conviction) "PEOPLE ARE DYING! Will you please shut down the system?"
share"The movie makes it pretty obvious he was a narcissist and very cold."
THIS APPLIES MORE TO THE CHARACTER IN THE BOOK THAN IN THE MOVIE.
A cool plot point from the book that I wish could've made it in the movie is the compies coming onto the mainland of Coasta Rica. But the compies weren't even in the movie. They did sort of use that plot point in the sequel though.
