Why is this rated R?

I didn't see this movie yet, but could someone explain why it's rated R?

The "F-word" is said 2 or 3 times, along with other various words, and a tiny bit of nudity and violence

To answer your question, the movie is rated R because of violence, nudity, a rape scene, language (the F-bomb i would say lol), and sexuality.

But it should be PG-13

Please DON'T make boards saying things such as "This movie is overrated" or "This movie sucks."

If they re-submitted it to the MPAA today, it would likely get a PG-13 rating. It's just a sign of the times. The world was still pretty conservative in the early '90s.
