Rose's daughter

This may have been discussed already but...since when does Rose have a daughter?

I just finished the book for class and only Waverly had a kid. Rose had a garden...and a shrink.

And she wanted the house but she didn't HAVE a daughter.

In the movie, when Rose's marriage first started to crumble. She mentions that for the wrong reason she became pregnant, to keep her husband.

and at the end, Ted is at the party smiling, implying that Rose and Ted stayed together, which is completely ridiculous.

Ted was bored of Rose. I think what he wanted was someone who was not too obedient. Rose used to argue with him a lot. After she got married with him, she rarely disagreed with him. When Rose said that she wanted the house and her daughter, Ted found that he found someone who he wanted again. That's why they got back together at the end. That's what I think...

Also when ted and rose are together in the party rose's mother gives some cake to rose's daughter

Rose's daughter is the one that June puts down for a nap and tells her mom's story to.

And Ted didn't work in publishing in the book. He was a doctor. Ying Ying didn't drown her baby in the book. Sometimes, you just have to expect that while the movie is good, it's not going to follow the book exactly. Enjoy them each in their own right and try not to spend too much time getting mad at the use of creative license.

Totally agree. They where still in love, but tired about routine. Rose was too passive, didn´t have a life of her own. When she realize that he will not control her life any more he start to respect her: She was once more the powerful woman he fell in love at school.
