Ending **spoiler**

I know, I've started a bunch of topics on this message board (um... please look at them) but I have one more thing to ask. For those of you who read the book (**SPOILER** For those who want to read it but haven't yet!!), did you notice how the ending in the movie is like, um... really different? Is it just me, or did Lindo eventually give in and write the letter? Because in the movie, Jing Mei just goes there and tells them herself, which I don't think she did in the book.

I believe that Jing-Mei writes a letter to her family in China and makes arangements with her father's family. I have to reread the book. I think thats how it is in the book.

After much near begging, Lindo writes another letter, and becomes very upset. Jing-Mei was actually happy she couldn't read Chinese, because thats how distressed Lindo looked after writing it. So the twin daughters found out before Jing-Mei visited, in the book that is.

That's right. I like the book's ending more, it was more authentic.

You're totally right! Lindo did eventually give in and write the letter saying that Suyuan was dead. Jing Mei wasn't the one who told them in the book. I know this is like 4 years late, but better late than never. Lol.
