was the rom racist or realistic

The mother tells his son's girlfriend that they may be very tolerate but race would be a problem to other people.

I felt that the mom was right. Interracial dating is very stressful for both the couple and their children.

They are constantly defending themselves from prejudice people. Their children will struggle with either being white or Asian.

I think that she was just speaking truth to power. This is coming from a non white girl who had observed discrimination toward interracial couples and their biracial kids.

People marries within their own race, only because it is more acceptable and easier for the children.

Since it was the first time she met her, and it wasn't a socio-political debate among friends, and she caught her alone so that she could ambush her, I would say the mom was racist and extremely inappropriate and tacky. Especially, for someone of her social standing. Her behavior was abhorrent.

That is a lame excuse for racism.

Load of crap. My entire family is nothing but full of interracial and biracial, triracial people and couples for GENERATIONS. . People who claim that's their reason for objecting is because of all the hardship are the main ones giving the couple a hard time and are the ones with the problem. Life is really really short and hating on people is a big waste of time. I've been in two interracial relationships and never been harassed or living a life of abject horror, going on 25 years. People just like you are the so-called problem.
