The Anti Coming of Age/Period Piece Film!
Let me say first of all I love this movie. (Possible Spoilers) This movie is set in 1972. It's a supposed coming of age film about a 13 year boy who has lost his Mom. There is a great soundtrack. But this movie breaks all the rules. Instead of a touchy feely movie, we get a look at the dark side of life. This movie deals with racism, anti-semites and nazis. It's a disturbing yet oddly touching film. The darkness touches everyone. Even our protagonist has his dark moments. Watch this film.
