Yeah this was a very sad movie, I almost cried watching it and I'm a grown man lol. I felt really sad watching this, but it was a great movie. Jack shouldn't have been so mean to his little brother though.

I was flipping through the cable movie channels, and landed on this movie today. I started tearing up when I saw what it was. This is one of the few movies that I really like, but cannot watch again. I've watched it twice, and both times it made me cry like a big baby. The part at the end where it's the flashback of the mother reading the book to the kids while that piano music is playing is heart wrenching. Not to mention, pretty much the whole movie is dark and depressing.

"Close" only counts with horseshoes and hand grenades.

Does anyone know the name of the book the mother is reading to the kids in the flashback?

reply

Its called "Runaway Bunny" by Margaret Wise Brown.

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

This movie was really disturbing, more so than depressing, even for a PG-13. I have to admit, there were a few scenes I thought I was gonna throw up. It was OK, but too twisted and demented for me.

It's depressing how lousy a movie it is...holy jeez it's awful. It has the elements of a good drama yet it's put together so incredibly badly. No wonder it sat on the shelf for a couple years; probably should have stayed there.
