The Best choice of an opening song BY FAR! Loved the intense pounding and tension build! Outlines the intense and vicious urban conflict of the troubles extremely well!

So glad that they used this and not some Irish Folk song like "Danny Boy" that directors use TOO DAMN MUCH when making films about the troubles.

Amen, especially about Danny Boy... it's wayyyyyy overused and oversung whenever 'Irish' (people who think they're Irish but don't know squat about their supposed Irish heritage--do you reaaaally think you're Irish if your great grandfather immigrated from Ireland when he was 2? Really????!!!!) people get together... There are soooo many beautiful Irish ballads so it annoys me when people default to Danny Boy.

it's an old war song. period.

the only movie I can think of that makes good use of it is 'Into The West' where the two young Irish gypsy boys steal a horse and go traveling. They need money so the younger one pretends to be sick and sings it on the street while pretending to grasp for breath...'is that alright?' 'No! Make it worse! Make it worse!'

and then in an awesome documentary about 9/11 (originally intended to be about a rookie fireman's first months on the job) there's a beautiful rendition of it by Ronan Tynan (one of the Irish Tenors) singing it acapella while photos of fallen firemen (and policemen?) are shown.

'Bono Gavin Friday In The Name Of The Father' (First song)

What a song & music?! I just couldn't resist having it along with the last song of this film which is a gem too.

'Sinead O Connor Thief Of Your Heart ' (Last song).

Right now I'm listening these songs!lol!
