How does it stack up vs the original movie? (1963 version)
Haven't seen this one, enjoyed the other when I was a kid. Has anyone seen both? How do they compare?

The 1993 movie is very good, and I loved both as a kid, but grown up I definitely prefer the 1963 version. The 90s version is more paced and there is no narrator, so the animals talk; it's well done but it makes it more contrived for my tastes, and with less charm. And the humor is typical of the 90s, which I love, but we all know it is sometimes very funny, sometimes really too cheesy.
I'd say the original is objectively the better movie, but the 1993 movie is more of a typical 90s movie for all the family: great enough to make you fall in love with it(especially if you only see that version, or watched that first).
