Alison whistling?!

Hi Everyone

I really hope I can get an answer on this as I've wondered this for years!

After Max tricks the witches with 'daylight saving time' and he runs out his house, Alison is waiting outside their car for him. But she is waving her arms about, whistling and directing Max to the car door!

Is there any reason why she does this?! Perhaps I have completely missed something!

I know exactly what scene you're talking about, as I've always found it kind of weird too. I haven't seen the movie in a couple years, so the details of the context of this scene are a little fuzzy, but I'm pretty sure she was just implying that they should get out of there right away, while they still can (since the witches will most likely learn that they've been tricked). It was definitely an odd way to send that message though. I just chalk it up to a hammy choice by the actress and/or director.

She's actually responding to Dani, who wants to "see the sun turn the witches into dust." Alison's waving and pointing to the headlights, indicating that there is no sun, and that they should get out of there before the witches realize they've been tricked.

We're all mad here.

^This. She doesn't want to yell out, "Hey, we're just tricking the witches!" because the witches would hear her, so she gets Dani's attention by whistling instead.

Simple: Dani wants to see the witches turn to dust. Allison is pointing out why she can't without actually yelling to Dani that it's a trick.

The bigger question: how did Allison know exactly when to turn on the headlights when she can't hear what Max is saying to the witches?

It could just be that Alison was an idiot. She probably deserved to get zapped by the witches.
