Portrays Walton as complete idiot

First, he is shown recklessly riding his motorcycle through town like a teenage punk, nearly causing traffic accidents and hitting pedestrians on the sidewalk.

Then, he leaves the truck and casually ambles toward an unknown and ominous craft like an utter fool - while five other guys are frantically screaming at him to stop acting like an utter fool. Finally, he gawks at the purty lights like a knuckle-dragging moron seeing his first rainbow - until he is zapped to hell.

I don't know if Walton admits to this behavior, but the movie didn't pain him as having an abundance of brain waves.

He was young... and silly.

To tell you the truth I would probably go towards the craft if I was caught up in the moment as well.

No, you're the one portraying him as an idiot, and going out of your way to do so.

The movie I watched was quite a bit different from how you describe it here.

You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.
