Criminally overlooked

This is one of my favourite Jeff Bridges' films as it highlights his skill as an actor. How many people can survive a life altering experience and remain the same person? His character survives a plane crash and then begins to believe that he is extra ordinary. In the process he alienates himself from his family as he is unable to relate to them anymore. Credit to Bridges for not playing a likeable character, but he is going through a process that only he and the survivors can understand. Bridges should have won Oscar for this rather Crazy Heart.

Special mention to Isabella Rosselini as his wife, as she is frightened and confused by the man that her husband has become. This film has disappeared never gets shown on television.

It's a great movie. I disagree that it's "overlooked".
I saw it in the theater, and have watched it many times over the last 25 years.

I agree 100%, one of Bridges’s better lesser known movies. A lot of them are pretty meh imo.
