So underated

I just dont get why this movie hasnt gotten more awards and success than it did. Besides being Peter Weir's best film, which says a lot, its also Jeff Bridges greatest performance and I dont believe he didnt even get an Oscar nomination! This is why I really hate the academy. Tom Hulce made a short comeback after slipping into obscurity after his great performance in "Amadeus" and I'm truly glad for that. Turturro is good as always, Rosie Perez deserved her Oscar nomination and Isabella Rossellini was just marvelous.

I understand why Weir made that five year break before "The Truman Show". He gave Holywood a masterpiece but they couldnt appreciate it, not enough anyway.
