Underrated gem!

So basically i agree with most people in here.... This is truly a masterful and very moving film. Saw it for the first time back in 94. Have revisited it several times over the years. It just keeps getting better.:-)

One of Weir´s best films! With another amazing performance by the always great Jeff Bridges!!

Also really love Weir´s use of music in the film.... Cant believe this is so hard to find on dvd. Thankfully i still have it on vhs:-)

All those moments ... will be lost ... in time ... like tears in rain.

I agree. Weir is a master in using unexpected music that deepens whatever is onscreen. check out Gallipoli. another film that will really move you- especially knowing that those battle scenes happened over and over during WW1.

and another beautiful performance by Jeff Brisdges is Starman.

It is truly a shame that less people do not know about this film. I love it. The editing, the story, the performances, the use of sound and music, are all exceptional. The chemistry between Bridges and Perez is both awesome and totally convincing, and Rossellini is great as well. WHat a great cast.

I agree, very underrated film. Great cast, very moving story. A true gem

Yes! I tell anyone I can about this film. The emotions captured on the faces of those in the crash scenes rings so true it moves me every time. Harrowing. Rosie Perez was deservedly nominated for an Oscar. Probably one of Bridges best performances. Just caught it again on cable last night. Remarkable.
