did anybody pick up on the name?

I wonder if the name Max (as in maximum) Klein (as in little, insignificant)reflects on the protagonists battle with the godlike clarity of looking at the world once he is able to 'let go' during the crash on the one hand, and his return to the ordinariness of everyday life in which he has become insignificant once again.

I saw it as little Max suddenly being a big wheel in the media.

Was wondering about that too, perhaps it was just meant as a contrast between his seemingly godlike ability to transcend his situation(s) and his actual ability to cope with his own fear and desire to die.
