while I do like switchblade sam and I think he was very entertaining in this movie but do you guys think the movie would have been as good without him considering he wasn't really important to the story?

I've said it once, I'll say it again. SWITCHBLADE SAM MAAAAADE THIS MOVIE!!!!! No where else do you get a character like this who is such a smooth talker, a cool cat, who can talk his way out of police questioning! That line when he's like "I'm just enjoying the breeze" that shut the cop right up. Switchblade knew where it was at, he knew what to do, I WISH I was that awesome. If I had his personality, looks, and smoothness, I would be the hit around town. They should change his name to Smooth Sam.

Yeah, I think it would've been better without him. Do we really need to see this threatening character in this film?

He also wasn't that threatening I could have gone without the scene where he almost kills Dennis but that was about the only part I found him terrifying.

Nope. It would have been too short, and boring without much conflict.

He could've just grabbed him and held him up and that would have been enough right there, no need to pull a knife.

If Denice were actually able to be held there, he could have sat there tied up without any of it, but off course that didn't happen. He was rather crazy normally, and Denice's antics only pissed him off further. Plus they don't call him Switchblade Sam for nothing.

I see what you mean that Dennis's antics made Sam just say "*beep* it, I'm gonna kill this kid" I'm just saying for a family movie it was a little much.
