How did they swap Dave with the president?

One of my favorite movies; 9/10. At the end they have Dave on the gurney to put in the ambulance. The president is obviously already in the ambulance, so I wonder how they made the switch with everyone crowding around as they opened the door. Any good ideas?

Secondly, it is bright daylight when he is loaded into the ambulance, but when they show the ambulance arriving at the hospital it definitely looks like late evening.

The ambulance most likely had a hidden compartment where they concealed the presidents body until the doors were firmly shut.

Or if it didn't it wouldn't have been difficult to construct one.

The weather change is a complete mystery, how did no-one in the editing room pick up on it? The darkness adds to the ambience of the scene, but I don't see why it couldn't have been dark when he was driven away in the ambulance in the first place.

First question, perhaps they had a blanket over him so he was unseen.

Second question. Suspension of Disbelief is required when watching a movie. But a possible explanation. I assume it already in the evening when the speech was given at around 8:00 given his stroke maybe around 8:10 or 8:15. Another 10 minutes maybe more to "Stabilize" Bill Mitchell before actually taking off in the ambulance, and add the distance to the hospital which was never given, and depending on the time of year, it would start to grow dark, fairly quickly within the given time frame
