Desperate to get a DVD of this movie!

I must see it again! Does anyone have any suggestions? Is this ever going to go to DVD? Is there a way to make a DVD of a VHS film, preferably legally?

reply

Not legally. You'd have to get a license from whatever studio owns the movie right now.

I actually just watched this today on VHS, which I just received. While I can't say it was a really good movie, it wasn't totally bad, either. It was far from uninteresting, at least. A little distasteful, perhaps. But Debra Winger definitely brought her all to the movie, so ... congrats on the Golden Globe nod! I didn't like Gabriel Byrne's accent or his acting, but ... I loved his sex. Same with David Straithairn, although his acting wasn't half-bad.

I would surely buy this on DVD if it ever came available.

I contacted Universal Home Entertainment, Inc., and they emailed back saying that this title is not marked for transfer to DVD due to contractual reasons. Amblin Entertainment was the production company, so they might not want the title on DVD. This was as of one month ago. I hope that helps.
