Location

I lived in Tampa and remember when this was filmed. Figured I'd post some of the locations. The chase between McKenna and crooks was filmed along N. Glenwood Drive. He runs his car thru a fence between 2307 and 2305 N. Glenwood Drive. The market where the bullies bust up the crooks car was filmed at the Sunrise Market on W. Woodlawn Ave @ N. Highland Ave. The scene where Devon stops his principal and then nearly gets squashed was filmed on Doyle Carlton Dr. right under interstate 275. The police department was filmed at the Tampa Police former building at Jackson Street and Florida Ave. Ybor City was used for the location of McKenna's apartment. The bar fight was filmed at the Warehouse Lounge on W Gandy Blvd and S Clarke Ave. It doesn't look anything like it did in the movie now.

Cant seem to find Devon's house. Any help is appreciated.

I was involved in the production of this film. Since I lived/live in Tampa, it was nice to work close to home. Burt was a total pro, as was Henry Winkler. And RIP Ray Sharkey.

What did you do on the film? I remember seeing Henry Winkler at Busch Gardens with his family while they were in town to film this. He waved at my mom and I and we thought it was cool "The Fonz" waved at us! Also, I don't remember the neighborhood where Devon's house was located. Any idea? Thanks.

I did tech support for the on-set PC's and related equipment. I did the same on "Cocoon" and some other Florida films.

Oh, regarding your question about where the house was located... the house was just north of Ybor. The neighborhood exteriors were shot elsewhere.
