I forgot just how striking Bojan Bazelli's use of color and shadow and light (and darkness) is here; the picture may be Ferrara's most visually impressive. It's also by far the biggest budget he ever worked with, which makes me wish more people would throw money at the man again.

shareI agree. The movie is terrifying and effective in its pacing. I saw this on T.V one night in 2004 as a teenager and I was alone in the house and was scared out of my head. Such a creepy vibe to the film and the visuals are fantastic.
