ok joon's clothing is of great intrest to me. i saw the dresses she wore throughout the movie and completely fell in love. so if i was to go into a store and be looking to dresses like that what term could i use to describe them? they are_______ ( fill in the blank ) dresses. thats be great thanks :)
shareI have the DVD of "Benny and Joon" where they show how the costume designer began with certain designs on Joon's clothing (starting with Mary Masterson's personal favorite colors) then worked their way down to what looked the absolute best on the actress... I noticed in particular the colors that went with Mary Stuart Masterson's coloring... a particularly deep color of teal blue, in particular... As the costume designer was doing her work, it was strictly what was looking good against Mary's skin tones as well-- they took into consideration the camera lighting against her skin-- and the simpler they made the costume design, the better Mary looked...
As well as the deep colored solid blue, I particularly noticed the deep-colored teal sprinkles or tiny flowers against a white dress. You might want to buy a DVD of "Benny and Joon" with the "Special Added Attractions." They show how they did Aiden's clothes as well...
