Additional Goof
When Sam first meets Benny & Joon, he asks for their names and writes them in his notebook. However he writes with his right hand, which is Depp's natural writing hand, but he's actually supposed to be left-handed in the movie so his script would look squiggly & childish as you would expect it to be for someone who's illiterate, which is also how he writes in the rest of the movie scenes, such as when he's writing a letter to his mother & writing his name on the job application at the video store.
