it's a pity... this movie does not exist in german! you can't even buy it here in english language!
i'd really like to see it.
and besides it plays in germany, so why don't they publish it in germany??

I've never seen it anywhere in OH or KY either.

Yes, it received a strangely limited release for being such a great film with some prominent names behind it...I remember seeing it advertised on the Boston subway system, which is pretty mainstream, but its been surprisingly hard to find videos of. It seemeed to take a long time to get to DVD as well...I finally ordered the (non special edition?) from Barnes and Noble, but then I did see it on sale at newbury comics, a local music place.

Though Germans have told me that Sheryl Lee's German is horribley accented...as an American who dated a German foreign exchange student, though, I'd say her german accented English is pretty convincing :-)

Hi,

this is not true, this movie has been on German TV several times (always on Vox, as far as I know), and is on again from time to time. Watch out for it on Vox, sometimes they show it at rather unusual times, on Saturday or Sunday morning or afternoon. I'm not sure whether you get in on DVD now.

Me too, although I did eventually get all my sh*t done. While watching Backbeat on the DVD player, of course!

I know this is an old thread. I hope the movie is now available in Germany. I am an American Beatles fan. I know their early days in Hamburg were very important to the growth and development of the band.

The thread is old, and I'm even older - but still around.
Apparently the movie is available in Germany. And I'm sure I can find it somewhere online . Maybe I'll see it some day.
