Sequel in the works ?

Some time back I believe on Paul Gross's website I read that a sequel is in the works or atleast what the director wants to do. Apperantly Peter Berg's character ended up having a daughter that he did not know about and the daughter comes looking for her father not knowing that he died. So Paul's character becomes like a father to her.

The details were something along the lines of that can't remember it all but it was one idea that was floating around. I have always loved the movie since first seeing it as a young age and made me a huge Paul Gross fan since I first saw the movie but don't see how they could do a sequel. At least not being a new one on the big screen if it happens I see it being a direct to video movie.

What's your thoughts for a second movie? Or plot ideas

reply

i really REALLY hoe you are right about this

i kinda doubt it, but i HOPE it does happen.

how old was that info that you read? things change so fast that if he said that in 2005 then it could have been cancelled. but, it would be too cool. and that is a great plot idea. (the daughter)

i think patrick hasburgh has been retired for a while now, but maybe it's possible he could come back to do a sequel. i sure hope he does.

if you hear anything else, please post it

thanks

I don't remember when I heard the news I guess around the time of my last posting. Pretty sure though I found the news on Paul Gross's website

if they do do it, they should time it for a 20 year anniv.

which would be next year. :)

In anycase don't see it coming to the big screen at least not in the US... Feels to me it will be a TV movie. I looked a little bit but haven't found any new updates on the progress unless I missed something. At the moment Paul himself is suppose to be doing another war movie, and just recently left the studio that he co-founded, and want to work on a few select things. So I wonder if the sequel will come out at all

I don't know maybe perhaps there was not enough interest for anyone to pursue the project. I think they just had plot ideas I don't believe a whole script was ever written.

In theory it could happen but I don't think the scenario you mentioned could be part of it. For one thing, my understanding is that Paul wasn't very happy with the movie, and still seems somewhat embarrassed by it, so if they did a sequel they'd have a LOT of work to do convincing him to do it. If someone else played TJ then that would be a different matter.

Paul... Gross!? The guy's been doing awful movies his entire career. I don't think it would take that much convincing to do a sequel.

Lindsey Vonn could play his daughter.
