I don't speak American Express!

This is not the greatest movie but I sure love the hell out of it! My friends and I were just getting into skiing around the time this movie came out. This turned into our go to movie to watch every night before we'd go. It was because of this movie that we strived to get better and better every time we went. We got to the point of doing some seriously dangerous stuff up there that I'm sure a few of us cheated death a few times. There was a run at Alta ski resort where it had a narrow notch about 75 feet deep / long and we called it the Aspen Extreme. You had to do what TJ did in the movie where you had to jump in the air to turn your ski's in the other direction and keep doing it all the way down. We loved it. When we would ask each other "where do you want to go down on the next run" sometimes the answer was Aspen Extreme and we all knew what it meant and where to go.

The skiing scenes in this are great, I love the snow anyway so lots of that pure white goodness on screen is great. Bryce was so hot, I've had a thing for her ever since. The Dexter character was awesome as we all seem to have that one friend that's like him at some point in our lives. The part about TJ wanting to be a writer was kind of dumb to me but I understand why they put it in there. I thought it had some great one liners and the ending when they go off trail is so cool. This is now loaded with pure early 90s nostalgia for me, it makes me miss that time period. Of course I was only 20 when it came out which is probably why I now feel that way. Regardless this is a total guilty pleasure movie for me now.

Yes, I really like the film too! Even though some aspects are ridiculous, such as Dexter becoming a drug dealer, coke addict, and then recovering all in about a week. But the film had a great feel to it and great ski scenes, likable actors. So it worked!
