I haven't seen anybody bring this up, but has anyone noticed how this is basically the exact same movie as Thrashin'? An outsider kid moves to a new town, shows off his skills in "extreme sports", falls in love with rival's sister, final downhill race, gets the girl, and respect from rival. Not to mention they were both awful.

By awful, do you mean groundbreaking? Genre Bending? Because if you do not mean those things.. you my friend are talking about the wrong movies

Maybe Airborne and Thrashin' are to "artsy" for me, too "out there". Maybe I prefer Armageddon. Call me a square, but I can't handle Josh Brolin.
