11x07 - They're Tracking Us.

There wasn't a new episode tonight, much to my dismay, but here's the promo for 11x07.

Tonight, title is Rm9sbG93ZXJz !

In a world of ever-increasing automation and artificial intelligence, Mulder and Scully find themselves targets in a deadly game of cat and mouse.

15 min so far, it is garbage

Something tells me you didn't like episode: 'Metalhead' in Black Mirror either.

reply

Still gotta check Black Mirror

I like the idea of machines being evil and taking over, but the 25 min i manage to see before going to sleep, were badly written, repetitive

Mulder emoting: "This fish looks weird. I can't eat this." ;)

reply

Exactly, haha. "Can I help you?" presented as a quizzical expression on the tall robot.

reply

Agreed, utter garbage. WTF is this? No wonder GA has said she's done. With a script like this who can blame her.

reply

Highlight of the episode was Scully's "personal massager". I wish we had seen her using it...

reply

She will need stress relief after all that has happened. :)

If it uses alkaline cylindrical cell batteries rather than recharging from/drawing on the mains that would be for the best, I think. No telling when the electricity supplied will be hacked again in her home by some aberrant AI force. ;)

reply

That was awesome, haha. It did indeed put a little more humanity into the character. It's doubtful the 'personal massager' would have worked on TV in the 90's though, rofl.

reply

It definitely would not have worked. I guess I'm a prude, but I don't appreciate this sexual stuff in my X Files. Less is more: it worked in the orig series, it still works.

reply

I dunno. They used to occasionally reference Mulder's porn habits.

One of the funniest jokes of the original series occurred in Clyde Buckman's Final Repose. Buckman had the ability to foresee how people would die.

At one point, Scully is driving, Buckman (Peter Boyle) is beside her in the passenger seat, and Mulder is in the back seat, IIRC.

Buckman randomly turns to Mulder and comments: "You know, there are worse ways to go, but I can't think of a more undignified way than auto-erotic asphyxiation."

Mulder looks back at him in mild alarm: "Why are you telling ME that?"

reply

Oh yeah, that was an utter hoot!! That episode was brilliant.
