"Folie A Deux" was the best episode of Season Five
And one of the best stand-alone episodes ever.
shareAnd one of the best stand-alone episodes ever.
shareVery out there concept. A worker thinking his boss was a bug monster and the tape. You don't get quality sci-fi like that any more
shareOne of the best
shareThis would have made a great feature film. They could have kept it out of Season Five and instead used it, not "Fight The Future," for "The X Files" debut on the big screen
shareWhy not pitch this idea to the studios? Just give them the hint and maybe they will!
shareThe movie could start, "Twilight Zone" style, with Mulder committed and trying to convince all of the skeptical doctors, including Scully, of this bug's existence. The movie could then back track to show us how Mulder got this way. Or eschew the flashbacks, and hold off on showing the bug, and make us question, for as long as possible, if Mulder has this time truly cracked.
shareSounds good. Try contacting them before someone else does !
Totally agree. Love the spin on the classic us vs them type story like Stephen King's 'Ten O'Clock People' and 'They Live' I still can't believe how much pace, story and character development is possible in 45min.. good writing in them days!
shareAs much as I love this episode they do try to squeeze a lot into 45 minutes; it makes the viewer feel a bit overwhelmed. I can see them easily adding another hour to this one without it feeling padded in any way. It's a shame they didn't go with this story for the 1998 movie; it beats the anticlimactic one they chose hands down.
shareWe see very little of the monster too which is always a big plus.
shareAgreed. I think its a top 10 episode out of the whole series.
