Wow, the Ninja Zords are sure crap!

Not too far into season 3 right now. I was amped for new zords after the Thunder Megazord and Tigerzord got destroyed and all I can say is - REALLY?

The "special effects" of the frog jumping and the red ape running through the city were just laughable. The Ninja Megazord looks thin and scrawny compared to the Thunder Megazord.

Also, maybe something develops later on, but the Ninja Ranger "powers"? What exactly are/were they? It seems like they were just a catalyst so that the rangers could piggyback off them to change into their real Power Ranger forms after they lost the ability to morph into them directly.

I'm not so sure - I think the ninja forms were added in from Kakuranger.

I vaguely remember the soccer mom anti-violence stuff from back then, lol. Seems silly now, PR probably introduced a lot of kids to the idea of martial arts, which are designed to teach discipline and respect. But I guess all they saw were the punches and kicks.

I really disliked those Tengas, I missed the hard thuds the putties would make while being beaten, although that also was a problem brought over from the Super Sentai version. Fortunately, it was largely solved with the introduction of the Cogs in Zeo.

Nah, the ninja forms were an original creation (first used in the movie). But kakuranger was ninja themed.

That's pretty cool! Power Rangers overall has done a pretty great job at hiding the fact they dubbed over Japanese series. Even now watching with foreknowledge, it's easy to miss parts that differ.

Well, they do a much better job now. Looking back at the early seasons, it's super easy to tell when we've switched to sentai footage.

Well, some seasons manage it better than others to be sure. I don't recall RPM being easy to notice, maybe you have better perception.

I agree
The ninja zords&the battle borgs are awfull compare to the thunder zords and the tiger zord and the dinozords and the dragon zord

The zords from the first 2 seasons are far more superior to the battle borgs
Even the zeo zords and the turbo zords are superior to the ninja zords

I love all of the Dinozords and the Thunderzords so much I collected all the Zords in 1993 and 1994 respectively and I still have all of those Zords today! As for the Ninjazords I never bought one.
