Predictable

One reason I stopped watching the show as a kid, is because I noticed how predictable it was. This is how an episode typically aired.
1. The Episode Would Start With Characters At School, The Youth Center, or The Park.
2. The Characters Would Talk About Something Which Would Be The Main Focus Of An Episode.
3. Bulk And Skull Would Annoy The Characters, In The 2nd Season They Try To Find Out Who The Power Rangers Really Were.
4. Rita Or Zedd Would Make A Monster, Typically Based On What The Rangers Were Talking About.
5. The Rangers Would Face Putties UnMorphed.
6. A Monster Would Appear
7. The Rangers Would Have Their Communicators Ring And Teleport To The Command Center.
8. They'd Morph And Face The Monster
9. A Lot Of The Time, The Monster Would Grow. If It Didn't They'd Destroy It With Their Power Blaster, Power Cannon In Season 2, Once They Get The Upper Hand.
10. They'd Summon Their Zords, And It Always Seemed To Be Their Power Sword Or Titanus That Defeated The Monster.
11. Rita Or Zedd Would Show Disappointment.
12. The Characters Would Be At The School, Youth Center, Or Command Center Talking About How They Defeated The Monster, And Find A Solution To What They Were Talking About Earlier.
13. Bulk And Skull Would Approach Them And Have A Wipeout.
14. The Characters Would Laugh At Bulk And Skull And It Would Pause And Go To The Credits.

Even as a kid, I noticed how most of the episodes ended with them laughing at Bulk and Skull. For the most part the show was pretty predictable. Not like a Simpsons episode where it starts off with a different plot in the beginning and somehow gets lead to the main plot.

Sorry for a long post. But, I'm sure a lot of you can agree with what I wrote.

Which is why the show got better, after it moved on to PR in Space.

Yeah, in terms of general structure the show is very formulaic and repetitive. The worst is probably the pointless fighting with the putties. But a lot of the stories, action and even interactions were still pretty fun.

Most kids probably didn't realize quite how formulaic it was but even they recognized and liked some of the recurring elements, especially the the endings nearly always having the zords battle against the monster.
