Huge plot hole in Green with Evil episodes...

Tommy is under an evil spell, bent on destroying the Power Rangers.

The Power Rangers don't know his identity, but he knows theirs.

He tries to kill them in battle, when they're all morphed.

Yet at school, when he has the perfect opportunity to kill them, he doesn't. When Kimberly confronts him about why he didn't show up for a date, he acts like a jerk to her. He could've taken her out right there. So the extent of his evilness is just being rude and distant?

The whole structure of this series made little sense. When in a morphed battle, Tommy's intent is to kill the other Rangers: Cue the fancy weaponry and megazords. But at school, when the Power Rangers are just a few feet in front of him, unmorphed, when they'd least expect any confrontation, Tommy could've offed them one-by-one.

You could say that Tommy wanted his identity to remain a secret, but if he killed them, which was Rita and his ultimate goal, it wouldn't have mattered. Also he would not have been making himself look suspicious by being cold and distant.

The word "evil" is thrown out a lot on this series. But even Tommy was never even fully evil under his spell - after being confronted by Bulk and Skull, the worst he did to them was zap them with his green ranger powers and send them diving into a trashcan played for comic relief. He didn't even give them a serious injury.

Yes I know it's a children's show and it isn't supposed to make structural sense, but it is horribly written.

The Bulk and Skull Parts are the worst Part of the Green with Evil Episodes

But the Green with Evil Episodes are Awesome and Memorable
Samurai is a Horribly Written Season like the Alien Rangers Mini Series

But Time Force&RPM had the Best Writing

Not to mention:

Tommy/The Green Ranger has access to entering the Command Center. The first time he entered it, he gives Alpha a virus and destroys Zordon by pulling a bunch of wires.

He doesn't enter it again for quite some time, leaving the Power Rangers plenty of time to fix Alpha and work on Zordon...

Then, when he enters it again the 2nd time, and notices Alpha has been fixed and Zordon is almost repaired, he simply turns Alpha off. Like wtf? Did he not think the Rangers would've easily turned him back on? Then instead of pulling wires again, he presses a few buttons sending Zordon to another dimension.

If you were the Green Ranger, you'd keep entering the Command Center consistently to make sure Zordon and Alpha were down - not allowing any time for Rangers to do repairs.

But even more, the 2nd time he entered, and noticed that the Zordon was almost up-and-running again, surely he would've did more damage than he did - he had a chance to really damage the whole structure of the place, dismember Alpha into pieces, break the entire machinery beyond any repairs - but instead he ops to leave everything intact. lol

Also:

Giant Goldar picks up the bus with Bulk and Skull inside, with intent to kill them. Jason shouts, "no they're civilians!"

But prior to this, giant Goldar was destroying skyscrapers in downtown Angel Grove, stepping on buildings, turning them into rubble - surely he would have killed hundreds of civilians doing this but no mention of this.

But
Everyone Remembers Green with Evil
Tommy's Debut made the First Season so Memorable

Heck, Even Scorpina Made her Debut in Green With Evil
Everyone Remembers Scorpina!

and after that, Big Shock Skull Pulls Bulk's Ear (the Dumbest part of Green with Evil Since Squatt's "Finster's in Trouble" Line

MMPR is full of plot holes. It's not exactly hard to point them out.

Let's roll some tits up the flagpole and see if anyone gets wood.

Good Point

But Ninja Storm had a Few Plot Holes Too

reply

It's power rangers - every season does.

Even RPM&Time Force&In Space (The 3 Power Rangers Seasons are Better than its Sentai Counterpart)?

even DBZ has Plot Holes Too

reply

Though I love them - yes, they do.

reply

I wouldn't call it a plot hole. And really, why point out this particular episode? Rita and crew know everyone's identity from day one. They could have easily killed all 5 of them while they slept at any time.

In the kingdom of the blind, you're the village idiot.

reply

After Tommy was put under Rita's spell, she gave them the names of all the Power Rangers he was supposed to go after.

Tommy seemed to want to keep himself a secret from the other rangers. Even Rita told him to remain on Earth and do it. Though, he did try to kill Jason unmorphed by teleporting him to Rita's Dark Dimension. Jason didn't even know he was Tommy when he faced off with him in the dark dimension.

It's a kid show, writing and him keeping a secret.

reply

Rita was having more fun.

reply

He should've killed them unmasked out in public with countless of witnesses???

reply

Yeah, there was no advantage to Tommy revealing himself while working for Rita.

reply

Like you said its because it was a kids show so the writers could only do so much without causing parents to not approve of their kids to watch the show. Otherwise Rita could have easily shot a rocket or something down on all 5 rangers house at night while they were sleep or have a monster show up full grown at night and step on everybody.

reply

They could only work around the Sentai footage.

reply

That too.
