did they originally plan on writing off Rita Repulsa as Zedd banished her at Season 2 (And guess why he did). Why did they have Rita in White Light (And when Kim said Lord ZEdd must be looking for Rita too, was he you think?) I wonder how Rita felt finding that Zedd was no more successful than her.
Well, for starters, there was only so much they could do with Rita without recasting her after they had used up all the Bandora footage. ----------- Censor Censorship! 🍆

Yeah, that's also why Scorpina just suddenly vanished once Zedd showed up. They started using US footage for the villains so they were gonna have to recast her with a US actress. I'm guessing they didn't have one at the time, since Scorpina was absent for awhile and suddenly showed up after the new rangers replaced Jason, Zack and Trini only to disappear for good afterwards because Saban couldn't keep the actress for more than one episode.
Its amazing how people hang around message boards of movies they dont like
ok what was the real plan of Rita? And of Scorpina she just vanished, even when Rita came back. of Rita from the start I knew she'd return what of any of you? What was her apperance in White Light supposed to mean? that she can return? and why did the Rangers feel they had to reseal her? and When Kimberly said Lord ZEdd must be looking for Rita too, was he? did Zedd even know she landed on earth?
They used footage from Zyuranger. They eventually ran out of footage so they created Zed. Someone, or several someones obviously missed the character so they recast the role with a different actress. What more is there to understand?

Two things: parents complained that Lord Zedd was too dark and sinister for children. He started out as a serious, ominous villain (as did Goldar), but later, after marrying Rita, Zedd become more goofy; the writers decided to bring back Rita to bring more comedy to the villains, and play their marital problems for laughs.
Also, originally they ran out of Bandora footage which is why they changed the main villain to Zedd. But after a while, the thought occurred to the writers they could bring back Rita, and just recast her - so they did. It was a way to boost ratings to bring back a popular, memorable villain.
As for what the reason is in the TV universe, there is none. This isn't Lord of the Rings. The writers thought to bring back Rita, and they did, there is no real meaning as to her reappearance in this particular episode compared with any other - it's just a coincidence.

well I wonder if her being in White Light was to show that she can return and to foreshadow it. I heard of that of why they toned ZEdd down. But was there plans to write her out forgood, well being locked in a dumpster floating in space is a fate worse than Death.
I'm sure they originally put her back in the "dumpster," because that was Bandora's fate in the original. Simple as that. Its Power Rangers. It doesn't pay to overly think these things.

what was the plan you think at first as thats a fate worse than Death I feel. though I was younger then I had a feeling shed come back. I know Doomsday 2 parter was to be the last ep.
I've heard as well that Doomsday was to be the end. It certainly seemed that way to me. But you have to remember, the show did far better than anyone expected, so they had to do something.

and now to this day the show is still on. i wonder if it will reach 1000 episodes. RIta was to be resealed. in the end Zordon offered for them to go back to their lives acting like Rita was defeated. Also in White Light when Kim said Lord Zedd must be looking for Rita too is that possible that was the case? why didnt the Rangers destroy Rita as they had her at their mercy. How would Zedd have felt of that?
Yeah, originally Doomsday was gonna be the series finale and was gonna be about the rangers attending senior prom and was gonna end with them sealing up Rita and her minions back in the dumpster just like in Zyuranger. However since the show ended up being more popular than the creators thought it would, 20 more episodes for the first season was ordered.
The fact that it was meant to be the series finale becomes very obvious at the end when Zordon gives the rangers the option to retire as well as the rangers acting like Rita had been defeated for good, even though in the final version she escaped.
