I was always harsh on this show......

....because I felt that Dean Cain was a weak Superman. I never thought he looked the part. George Reeves, Christopher Reeve, Gerard Christopher, Tom Welling, Brandon Routh and now Henry Cavill all have a look about them that Dean Cain lacked. They call had that ruggid, strong jawline, etc. Dean Cain didn't look like Superman.

I think this was a roadblock to me ever giving the show a fair chance.

Is the show good? Is it worth watching? Will Dean Cain grow on me?

reply

idk but George reeves had to wear 'stuffing' to fill out his man of steel uniform. you can even see it from time to time.

dean had the odd alienish looking face, and the muscle.

dean cain got the bumbling

the only things he didn't have in regards to dean and the supe is the voice and the height. have no idea why they now have henry cavil as the supe and not Brandon routh -- he gave me goosebumps.

Oh Thank you God! Thank you so BLOODY much!Basil Fawlty

Dean Cain is the best Clark Kent ever, and he's Clark Kent far more often than he's Superman.

I didn't watch this show in the 1990's because I thought it was too girly for me, a macho man.

But since MOS, I've seen a few eps on the Hub cable network, and I kind of like it because Clark/Superman has a personality at least, and this show has Jimmy in it.

In some ways, Superman might work better as a TV series than a movie, because in a movie everything has to be the most super-spectacular cataclysmic battle ever. And that kind of thing has the paradoxical effect of being boring after a while.
