Lex Luthor

John Shea is the definitive Lex Luthor. You can say what you like about his not even being bald. Lex Luthor's baldness has no meaning anymore. Way back when, Lex's baldness was the reason he hated Superman. It made him insecure. Starting from the 1980's it was purely incidental and had nothing to do with his character or his reasons for hating Superman. It has no meaning. He's just bald now because he's always been bald. John Shea's Lex is sly, subtle, snarky and had hundreds of great lines and moments throughout the show, none of which appear in the only episode where he IS bald. It's his worst episode of the series. And SUBTLETY is KEY for Lex Luthor. Something Gene Hackman lacked in spades. On the other hand Kevin Spacey had the subtlety but lacked any decent lines or moments. John Shea was the best of both. The MOS universe Lex needs to take a page from Shea's book.

Not to detract from Shea, but I agree!

It should be spelled "dogue". "Doge" is the ruler of Venice.
