Another weird thing is this message board is surprisingly empty; only has threads dating back to late 2015.
Used to be a lot more but the board reached it's maximum number of posts and the IMDb purged it.
As for the rating, sounds about right to me. Though Dave came out of the gate at full speed when he went to CBS, as time wore on things changed that had a negative affect on the show. Stuff like Dave pre-taping Friday shows instead of doing them on the actual day; remotes segments (something that had been one of his great strengths) being done by other people; allowing his political preference to show a bit too much; and I wonder if letting Mortie go as producer didn't bring things down a bit, too. Personally, I objected to his use of "Late Show" to publically flog Jay Leno over "The Tonight Show" debacle when just a few months earlier, Jay had not mocked Dave- like we know he could've- during "Interngate". Rather than being all that concerned about Conan, it seemed more like Dave was just displaying his own decades old bitterness over NBC choosing Jay over him to replace Carson. "Late Night With David Letterman" I would happily give a
10 as this might have been the finest late night show ever. That's when Dave was young, hip, inspired imitation, and helped define late night tv for the majority of the 80's. It was also before bitterness became one of his traits. "Late Night With David Letterman" was Dave at his best.
