Why Are They Playing Season 2 Theme For Season 1

Hi I started to watch reruns of Grace Under Fire. I was disappointed that they are playing season 2s theme for season 1. Why do they have to do that when a show has 2 different themes. The theme for season 1 is Lady Madonna sung by Aretha Franklin, but its the season 2 theme. In the theme for season 2 you see the new Quinton as an teenager, since they are playing the second season theme they edit him out of the credits. Does anybody noticed that too. Thanks Michael.

I've read that the reason for them doing that is that they'd have to pay royalties for Aretha's song each time the show was aired or something. It just probably gets really expensive after a while. I hadn't noticed the other thing, but the reruns I'm watching are still season 1.
