Brotherly Love Question

I just watched this episode for the first time on DVD today and was wondering if the DVD had been edited. Didn't the first episode run for 1hr 15mins (hence it was shown on a Sunday) but this episode has the same running time as all the other three-part episodes. Has 15 minutes been cut, or am I missing something

And on a different note, are the Region 1 DVD's split into their episodic format or do they run as full length movies like the Region 2 DVD's? Thank you.

I've no idea sorry but usually on tv show dvds they are shorter because of the adverts

I reckon the extra 15 will've been for adverts

The Region 1 DVD's are split into separate episodes.

The DVD version is the satellite broadcast version, and had the ten extra minutes removed. Cuts are taken throughout the the first episode, trimming or excising.

It is, frankly, a travesty. A lot of good material - material ITV left in despite it messing up their schedule by making the first ep too long for its time slot - was lost. I complained to the DVD company, but they weren't particularly bothered.

Oh, andthe final four stories are also shown in the wrong aspect ration - the sides of the picture are cropped off to make the original image (14:9) fit the regular TV size (4:3).
