Adapted U.S. Episodes
Is it me or was the two-part U.S. episodes about the L.A. Riots an adaptation of To Be a Somebody and Men Should Weep as there were some very similar plot points to both of the original British stories.

shareI unwittingly bought the entire American season and shut it off after ten minutes. I mean- what was the point of remaking a bunch of episodes as if the U.S. is some parallel universe where the exact same things are happening that happen in England, only with a decidedly bland, suburban twist.
I don't think it wise to try to follow Robbie Coltrane's performance, and also find it sad that this kind of silliness needs to be done for an audience too wrapped up in their own bland identities to be able to sit back and enjoy other cultures.
My apologies to Great Britain and the world as a whole. I hope you didn't ever have to sit through Friends or Seinfeld. ;)
